Concrete Polishing for Ajax Restaurants, Stores and Schools
Concrete polishing makes the slab that was poured under a building into its finished floor. We grind it level with diamonds, harden the surface with a densifier, then step up through finer grits until it reaches the sheen agreed in the quote. In Ajax that fits the restaurants and shops along Bayly Street and Rossland Road, the schools and community buildings spread through the neighbourhoods around Audley Road, and the showroom and distribution space found right across town.
With polished concrete floors from Quick F/X Epoxy, a building gets a bright, seamless floor that stops shedding concrete dust and is kept clean with routine sweeping and mopping. We work throughout Ajax, from the waterfront to the north end, and nothing is quoted until we have seen the concrete.
Why Choose Polished Concrete Floors
01
Hard-Wearing Surface
Densified, polished concrete stands up to heavy foot traffic, carts and rolling loads, and there is no coating on top that can chip or peel.
02
Easy to Keep Clean
A polished slab is smooth and tight, so a dust mop and a damp mop with a neutral cleaner are usually all it needs.
03
Less Concrete Dust
Densifying hardens the top of the slab, which cuts down the fine dust that bare concrete keeps shedding.
04
Brighter Spaces
The polished surface reflects light, which helps sales floors, showrooms, corridors and warehouse aisles feel brighter.
05
Your Choice of Sheen
Choose how much shine the floor has, from a soft satin to a high gloss, to suit the space and how it is lit.
Choose Your Polished Concrete Finish
A
Class A: Cream Finish
Only the very top of the slab is ground away, about 1/32 to 1/64 inch, so the surface stays mostly cement paste (roughly 85% to 95%) and barely any stone shows. The result is an even, plain colour for clean, contemporary interiors.
B
Class B: Salt and Pepper
Taking off around 1/16 inch reveals the sand and small stones just under the surface, giving the floor a fine, speckled pattern. It is an understated look that works on most commercial floors.
C
Class C: Coarse Aggregate
A deeper grind exposes the larger stones in the slab for a bold, terrazzo-like look. Which stones show depends on the original pour, so every floor is a little different.
Where Polished Concrete Fits in Ajax: Gyms, Grocers, Dealerships and Clinics
Restaurants and bars, grocery and big-box stores, auto dealerships, fitness centres, libraries and community centres all suit it, as do schools and healthcare facilities, since the same hard surface can carry on from the entrance to the back rooms without a coating to scuff or lift. Distribution and fulfilment space uses it where the floor stays dry and the goal is less dust on stock. Clinical rooms that call for a coating are a different job, covered under hospital floor coatings.
Sheen runs from satin to high gloss. Class A cream suits a bright restaurant or dealership, Class B salt and pepper is a good match for schools and community centres, and Class C coarse aggregate gives gyms and distribution space a rugged look.
A soft or badly cracked slab, a thin topping or stubborn old glue can make polishing a poor bet, and we put that in writing. If oil, chemicals or regular wet cleaning are part of the day, industrial and commercial floors in Ajax are better done in epoxy. Quick F/X Epoxy preps first, and our own crew does the work.
Why Ajax Owners and Facility Managers Choose Quick F/X Epoxy for Concrete Polishing
Every Ajax job starts with the concrete itself: hardness and moisture readings, diamond grinding and crack and joint repair come before any shine. Jay, who founded the company, takes your first call, prepares the written quote and walks the finished floor with you. Our own installers do the work, not subcontractors, on dates fixed with you in advance.
