Concrete Polishing for Kitchener Stores, Schools and Community Buildings

Polished concrete turns the slab a building already has into its finished floor. Diamond tooling grinds the surface flat, a densifier firms it up, and progressively finer diamonds carry it to whatever sheen you pick. Around Kitchener that suits big-box and grocery stores on Ira Needles Boulevard, fitness centres and showrooms on Weber Street East, restaurants and bars on Ottawa Street North, and schools and community centres in Pioneer Park and Laurentian Hills.

Quick F/X Epoxy begins every polished concrete floor by studying the slab: how hard it is, how dry it is, what has cracked and what has been patched. The result is one unbroken surface that bounces light around a room, sheds little dust and stays clean with a dust mop and an occasional damp pass. We work throughout Kitchener, from Sportsworld Drive to Highland Road West.

Why Choose Polished Concrete Floors

01

Hard-Wearing Surface

Densified, polished concrete stands up to heavy foot traffic, carts and rolling loads, and there is no coating on top that can chip or peel.

02

Easy to Keep Clean

A polished slab is smooth and tight, so a dust mop and a damp mop with a neutral cleaner are usually all it needs.

03

Less Concrete Dust

Densifying hardens the top of the slab, which cuts down the fine dust that bare concrete keeps shedding.

04

Brighter Spaces

The polished surface reflects light, which helps sales floors, showrooms, corridors and warehouse aisles feel brighter.

05

Your Choice of Sheen

Choose how much shine the floor has, from a soft satin to a high gloss, to suit the space and how it is lit.

Choose Your Polished Concrete Finish

A

Class A: Cream Finish

Only the very top of the slab is ground away, about 1/32 to 1/64 inch, so the surface stays mostly cement paste (roughly 85% to 95%) and barely any stone shows. The result is an even, plain colour for clean, contemporary interiors.

B

Class B: Salt and Pepper

Taking off around 1/16 inch reveals the sand and small stones just under the surface, giving the floor a fine, speckled pattern. It is an understated look that works on most commercial floors.

C

Class C: Coarse Aggregate

A deeper grind exposes the larger stones in the slab for a bold, terrazzo-like look. Which stones show depends on the original pour, so every floor is a little different.

Which Kitchener Buildings Suit Polished Concrete

Shops and hospitality get the most from the look. Shopping malls, dealerships, restaurants and bars can carry one glossy floor from the entrance to the back wall. Schools, libraries, colleges and healthcare facilities like a hard surface with few joints to clean, and distribution and fulfilment buildings near Strasburg Road use it for dry aisles, offices and pick areas.

Choose the sheen from satin to high gloss, then the finish: Class A cream suits showrooms and dealerships, Class B salt and pepper suits dining rooms and schools, and Class C coarse aggregate suits hard-working distribution space.

Not every slab is a candidate. Very soft, badly damaged or thinly topped concrete, and some stubborn adhesives, can rule polishing out, and we tell you so in the quote. Where oil, chemicals or standing water are part of daily life, a coating does the job better, which is where our commercial and industrial work comes in, along with hospital floor coatings for wet clinical rooms. Whichever way it goes, we prepare the floor first and our own crew carries out the work.

Why Kitchener Property Managers Trust Quick F/X Epoxy

Polishing rewards patience in the prep, so we measure hardness and moisture, grind with diamonds and fix cracks and joints before the first polishing pass. Jay, the founder, talks to you at the start, writes the quote and walks the finished floor with you. Our own crew does the work, never subcontractors, and the dates are fixed with you ahead of time.

Outstanding Epoxy Flooring Service! I couldn’t be happier with the results! The team was professional, punctual, and clearly skilled at what they do. They took the time to prepare the surface properly and explained every step of the process. The final epoxy floor looks incredible — smooth, glossy, and durable. It has completely transformed our porch into a clean, modern space. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality really stand out. Everything was completed on schedule and within budget, with zero mess left behind. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for top-quality epoxy flooring and great customer service!

Our Concrete Polishing Process

01

Free Quote for Your Floor

Tell us about the building, the floor area and how it is used, and send a few photos. We tell you whether the slab suits polishing or whether epoxy is the better choice, and come back with a clear quote.

02

Check the Slab

We check the concrete for hardness, cracks, joints and any old adhesive or coating that has to come off, then agree the finish and the timing with you.

03

Diamond Grinding

The slab is ground flat with diamond tooling to the look you chose, from a smooth cream finish to exposed aggregate, and cracks and joints are filled.

04

Densify and Polish

A densifier is worked into the concrete to harden the surface, then the floor is honed and polished through finer diamonds to the sheen agreed for the space.

05

Guard and Walkthrough

A penetrating guard goes on to help the floor resist stains. We walk the finished floor with you and explain the simple cleaning routine that keeps it looking good.

Frequently asked questions

Can a Kitchener restaurant or retail store stay open during concrete polishing?
Often, yes. We split the floor into sections, agree the order and the days with you in advance, and tell you when each part is ready for foot traffic. Grinding is done with dust control, so the rest of the space stays usable.
It is a good fit for corridors, gyms and large open rooms, since the surface is hard, makes little dust and needs only mopping. We assess the slab beforehand, and if it is too soft or too damaged to polish well, the quote says so.
They stay visible. We fill and stabilize them so the surface is sound, but polishing shows the slab as it is, with its patches and variations. If you need a flawless, uniform colour, a coating is the better route.
Sweep or dust mop daily, then damp mop with a neutral cleaner. The penetrating guard helps resist stains, though spills are still best wiped up promptly. Harsh acids and heavy abrasives should be kept off the floor.
