One Polished Floor from Entrance to Back Wall in Newmarket
Concrete polishing means grinding the slab until it is flat, hardening it with a densifier and then honing it through finer diamond grits to the sheen you pick. In Newmarket it fits the stores and showrooms along Yonge Street and Mulock Drive, the restaurants and bars near Main Street, and the office and professional buildings on Green Lane. Schools and healthcare buildings across town use the same floor for halls and waiting areas.
What you end up with is a hard, seamless surface that reflects light and holds little dust. Concrete floor polishing leaves nothing to chip off, since the slab itself is the finish, and the floor looks after itself with a dust mop. Quick F/X Epoxy brings this to buildings all over Newmarket.
Why Choose Polished Concrete Floors
01
Hard-Wearing Surface
Densified, polished concrete stands up to heavy foot traffic, carts and rolling loads, and there is no coating on top that can chip or peel.
02
Easy to Keep Clean
A polished slab is smooth and tight, so a dust mop and a damp mop with a neutral cleaner are usually all it needs.
03
Less Concrete Dust
Densifying hardens the top of the slab, which cuts down the fine dust that bare concrete keeps shedding.
04
Brighter Spaces
The polished surface reflects light, which helps sales floors, showrooms, corridors and warehouse aisles feel brighter.
05
Your Choice of Sheen
Choose how much shine the floor has, from a soft satin to a high gloss, to suit the space and how it is lit.
Choose Your Polished Concrete Finish
A
Class A: Cream Finish
Only the very top of the slab is ground away, about 1/32 to 1/64 inch, so the surface stays mostly cement paste (roughly 85% to 95%) and barely any stone shows. The result is an even, plain colour for clean, contemporary interiors.
B
Class B: Salt and Pepper
Taking off around 1/16 inch reveals the sand and small stones just under the surface, giving the floor a fine, speckled pattern. It is an understated look that works on most commercial floors.
C
Class C: Coarse Aggregate
A deeper grind exposes the larger stones in the slab for a bold, terrazzo-like look. Which stones show depends on the original pour, so every floor is a little different.
Newmarket Schools, Clinics, Stores and Dealerships on Polished Concrete
Polished concrete suits the wide, open floors Newmarket has: retail stores and grocery aisles, car dealerships, event venues, fitness centres, libraries and community centres, municipal buildings and galleries. Schools and healthcare buildings pick it for corridors and waiting rooms because it is plain, hard and quick to clean. Distribution and fulfilment space off Leslie Street can polish a dry slab end to end.
On finishes, you can go from satin to high gloss. Class A cream is a good match for lobbies and clinics, Class B salt and pepper for shops and classrooms, and Class C coarse aggregate for working halls.
Polishing is not for every slab. Soft concrete, thin toppings, heavy damage and some adhesives are reasons we may advise against it. Where oil, chemicals or pooled water are part of the day, epoxy is the better floor; see our industrial and commercial pages for that, or hospital coatings for the wet rooms in a care building. We prep the slab first, and our own crew does the work.
Why Newmarket Owners and Managers Choose Quick F/X Epoxy for Polished Concrete
Good polishing depends on what happens before the first pass of the polisher. We test the slab, grind it, then fill the cracks and joints so the surface is sound. Jay, our founder, is there for the first call, the quote and the closing walkthrough, and the people on your floor are our crew rather than a subcontractor. Expect a written quote in plain words and dates you have agreed ahead of time.
