Concrete Polishing for London Restaurants, Schools and Dealerships
A great many London buildings are a plain concrete slab with something laid over it, and plenty of them look better without the covering. Polished concrete drops the extra layer: the slab is ground level, hardened with a densifier and brought up through finer diamonds until it holds a sheen of its own. You see it in the restaurants and bars of Wortley Village and Old East Village, the dealerships and big stores along Wonderland Road South and Wellington Road, the schools and clinics around Hyde Park and Byron, and the hangars on the airport lands in the city’s northeast.
Quick F/X Epoxy provides concrete polishing for owners who want a building to feel finished from the front door to the back wall. What you end up with is one continuous polished concrete floor that spreads light around the room, gives off very little dust and cleans with a mop. We take jobs across London, Ontario and the area around it.
Why Choose Polished Concrete Floors
01
Hard-Wearing Surface
Densified, polished concrete stands up to heavy foot traffic, carts and rolling loads, and there is no coating on top that can chip or peel.
02
Easy to Keep Clean
A polished slab is smooth and tight, so a dust mop and a damp mop with a neutral cleaner are usually all it needs.
03
Less Concrete Dust
Densifying hardens the top of the slab, which cuts down the fine dust that bare concrete keeps shedding.
04
Brighter Spaces
The polished surface reflects light, which helps sales floors, showrooms, corridors and warehouse aisles feel brighter.
05
Your Choice of Sheen
Choose how much shine the floor has, from a soft satin to a high gloss, to suit the space and how it is lit.
Choose Your Polished Concrete Finish
A
Class A: Cream Finish
Only the very top of the slab is ground away, about 1/32 to 1/64 inch, so the surface stays mostly cement paste (roughly 85% to 95%) and barely any stone shows. The result is an even, plain colour for clean, contemporary interiors.
B
Class B: Salt and Pepper
Taking off around 1/16 inch reveals the sand and small stones just under the surface, giving the floor a fine, speckled pattern. It is an understated look that works on most commercial floors.
C
Class C: Coarse Aggregate
A deeper grind exposes the larger stones in the slab for a bold, terrazzo-like look. Which stones show depends on the original pour, so every floor is a little different.
Polished Concrete for London Stores, Campuses and Hangars
Auto dealerships, grocery and big-box stores, schools, libraries, community centres, healthcare buildings, event venues and airport hangars all suit polished concrete in London. So does a distribution building with a dry floor. Wherever a long run of floor must stay bright and hard under carts, chairs and tires, a single polished slab does the job.
Choose a sheen from satin to high gloss. Class A cream suits showrooms and reception areas, Class B salt and pepper suits school corridors and stores, and Class C coarse aggregate suits hangars and stockrooms.
Not every London slab is a candidate. A very soft, badly damaged or thinly topped floor, or one under stubborn adhesive, may refuse a polish, and the quote tells you. Where oil, chemicals or standing water are part of the day, epoxy wins, as in our industrial and commercial work in London. Shops wanting colour can look at our retail floor coatings. We prepare the slab thoroughly before any polishing starts, and our own crew handles the grinding.
Why London Building Owners Choose Quick F/X Epoxy
A polished floor is only as good as the work underneath it, so we test the slab, fill the cracks and joints and grind before any polishing begins. Jay, our founder, speaks with you on the first call, prepares the written quote and walks the finished floor with you. Our own crew does the work, not subcontractors, and the dates are set together before we arrive.
