Concrete Polishing for Toronto Restaurants, Retail and Institutions

Toronto has a great many commercial and institutional buildings with a sound slab under the finishes, and concrete polishing makes that slab the finished floor. Diamond tooling grinds it flat, a densifier hardens it, and finer and finer diamonds bring it up to the sheen you chose. It suits restaurants and bars around King Street West and Ossington, hospital and school buildings near University Avenue, and hangars at the island airport.

At Quick F/X Epoxy, polished concrete floors begin with a close look at the slab. You end up with one continuous floor that reflects light, gives off little dust and cleans with a dust mop and a damp mop. We take on buildings across Toronto, from the Golden Mile in Scarborough to the offices of North York around Sheppard Avenue and Don Mills Road.

Why Choose Polished Concrete Floors

01

Hard-Wearing Surface

Densified, polished concrete stands up to heavy foot traffic, carts and rolling loads, and there is no coating on top that can chip or peel.

02

Easy to Keep Clean

A polished slab is smooth and tight, so a dust mop and a damp mop with a neutral cleaner are usually all it needs.

03

Less Concrete Dust

Densifying hardens the top of the slab, which cuts down the fine dust that bare concrete keeps shedding.

04

Brighter Spaces

The polished surface reflects light, which helps sales floors, showrooms, corridors and warehouse aisles feel brighter.

05

Your Choice of Sheen

Choose how much shine the floor has, from a soft satin to a high gloss, to suit the space and how it is lit.

Choose Your Polished Concrete Finish

A

Class A: Cream Finish

Only the very top of the slab is ground away, about 1/32 to 1/64 inch, so the surface stays mostly cement paste (roughly 85% to 95%) and barely any stone shows. The result is an even, plain colour for clean, contemporary interiors.

B

Class B: Salt and Pepper

Taking off around 1/16 inch reveals the sand and small stones just under the surface, giving the floor a fine, speckled pattern. It is an understated look that works on most commercial floors.

C

Class C: Coarse Aggregate

A deeper grind exposes the larger stones in the slab for a bold, terrazzo-like look. Which stones show depends on the original pour, so every floor is a little different.

Polished Concrete Finishes

Polished Concrete for Toronto Malls, Dealerships and Hangars

Shopping malls, dealerships, restaurants, bars, schools, healthcare facilities and hangars all suit polished concrete, because one hard, bright floor can run through a whole building without seams or a coating to wear through. Factories and warehouses use it where a dry, clean floor with less dust is wanted. Wards and treatment rooms that need a coating instead are covered under hospital floor coatings.

You choose the sheen, from satin to high gloss, and the look: smooth cream, salt-and-pepper, or exposed aggregate. Showroom floors across the Golden Mile and the busy stretches of Eglinton Avenue East often go for a higher gloss, while schools and corridors tend to stay softer.

Not every slab suits polishing. Very soft, heavily damaged or thinly topped concrete, and some old adhesives, can rule it out, and the quote tells you. Where oil, chemicals or standing water are regular, epoxy is the better choice, as in our commercial and industrial floors in Toronto. You get prep first and our own crew.

Why Toronto Businesses and Institutions Choose Quick F/X Epoxy for Polishing

A polished floor is only as good as the preparation under it, so we take hardness and moisture readings, diamond grind and fill cracks and joints before any polishing begins. Jay, our founder, is on the first call, at the quote and at the final walkthrough, and the work is done by our own crew, not subcontractors. The quote is straight and the timing is agreed before we start.

I got an estimate on Friday and had a new basement floor by 4pm on Monday. Kuljit and his crew were awesome. Our concrete was Rough, cracks and holes. Now, it’s perfect !! It was also way more affordable than I thought it was going to be.

Outstanding Epoxy Flooring Service! I couldn’t be happier with the results! The team was professional, punctual, and clearly skilled at what they do. They took the time to prepare the surface properly and explained every step of the process. The final epoxy floor looks incredible — smooth, glossy, and durable. It has completely transformed our porch into a clean, modern space. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality really stand out. Everything was completed on schedule and within budget, with zero mess left behind. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for top-quality epoxy flooring and great customer service!

Our Concrete Polishing Process

01

Free Quote for Your Floor

Tell us about the building, the floor area and how it is used, and send a few photos. We tell you whether the slab suits polishing or whether epoxy is the better choice, and come back with a clear quote.

02

Check the Slab

We check the concrete for hardness, cracks, joints and any old adhesive or coating that has to come off, then agree the finish and the timing with you.

03

Diamond Grinding

The slab is ground flat with diamond tooling to the look you chose, from a smooth cream finish to exposed aggregate, and cracks and joints are filled.

04

Densify and Polish

A densifier is worked into the concrete to harden the surface, then the floor is honed and polished through finer diamonds to the sheen agreed for the space.

05

Guard and Walkthrough

A penetrating guard goes on to help the floor resist stains. We walk the finished floor with you and explain the simple cleaning routine that keeps it looking good.

Frequently asked questions

How does concrete polishing work in a Toronto restaurant or bar?
We check the slab, fill cracks and joints, grind, densify and polish. Work can be done in sections, with timing agreed in advance. The penetrating guard helps resist stains, and spills are still best wiped up quickly. A cooking line with constant wet and grease is better in epoxy.
It is hard, low in dust and simple to clean with a dust mop and a damp mop, which is why long corridors and large rooms suit it. We check the slab first, and the quote says so if yours is too soft or too damaged to polish well.
Existing marks, patches and cracks stay visible, because polishing shows the slab as it is. We fill cracks and joints so they are sound. If you want a perfectly uniform look, a coating suits better.
Dry areas where dust matters suit polishing. Where oil, chemicals or standing water are regular, epoxy is the better choice. Some buildings use both, polished in one area and coated in another.
